Starter lessons
These are for children aged between 7-11 yrs. and are half hour lessons. We teach small groups of up to 4.
During this time we aim to teach basic control at walk, then progress to rising trot. They will also learn jumping position over poles at this time.
The emphasis is on correct basic skills and building confidence.
Class lessons
These are one hour lessons taken in the indoor
school or outside during the summer. We teach riders to have an understanding
of what they are trying to achieve. A new lesson subject is taught each week.
We insist on clients riding a variety of different horses, but within their capabilities.
Teaching both flatwork and jumping to all our classes.
Private lessons
A private lesson can be an individual or shared lesson of up to three people.
It can be either a half hour or an hours lesson. Any level of rider, and any specific lesson can be taught.
Some clients have purely private tuition, and others have a mixture of classes and occasional private lessons to help to improve any particular skill.
Clients may have lessons on their own horse, for which there is a discount.
Privates are taught by both main instructors and the junior instructors.
Lunge lessons
These are half hour lessons taken in the indoor school or in the lunge pen.
Lungeing a rider is one of the best ways to build confidence and improve position.
The rider does not have to control the horse which makes it far easier to form an independant seat.
For the experienced rider lungeing is important. You can get a much better feel of the way the horse should work,
whilst correcting any positional faults.
We can also teach how to lunge a horse properly.
Stable Management lessons
All aspects of the thoery and practical side of horse care are taught.
We have a fully equipped training room, and many suitable horses and ponies for practical work.

This ensures all teaching and student training is totally up to date.

Our horses are definately not boring to ride, but are well schooled and sensitive rides. |

They can give you confidence, build your experience, and some are exciting to ride. | ![]() |
| The size range of our horses/ponies is from 13hh up to 17.2hh, but we do have rider age and weight restrictions. We have ponies in Welsh sections B,C and D, Irish bred horses, German Hanovarians, and pure Thoroughbreds. | ![]() |
We start (break-in) our own horses, so some have little experience, yet others are very experienced and have competed in dressage, eventing, and showjumping. |

Our philosophy is to provide clients with quality horses, subject to their experience and capabilities. This is why the skills and techniques of riding are so important. We want you to learn safely, correctly, and have fun. | ![]() |

Our main students study for 2 to 3 years (subject to previous experience), up to level 3. They receive a much wider experience of dealing with problem/young horses, which inevitably they need to handle. They are also able to have a varied and realistic clientele to teach, in difference to simply teaching fellow students.
We also cater for students part time or in the evenings. Either individually or in small groups.

On a more basic level we also run 1 hour courses as an introduction to:
